Join the team at Tees Valley Education as Executive Head Teacher for 2 of the Trusts Redcar based academies. Following the retirement of the existing EHT, and an Ofsted outcome that moved the academy to Good, this is a school that is ready for the next phase in its drive towards excellence.
About the role we are looking to appoint:
The successful candidate will be the Executive Headteacher across both the Redcar based academies and part of Tees Valley Education Trust. The postholder will be responsible for both schools, in practice this means they are the substantive headteacher at Dormanstown Primary Academy with oversight of Wilton Primary Academy where there is a Head of Academy.
We are confident that the academy is at an exciting juncture ready for the next chapter following the challenges faced recently but that led to the team achieving a good at their inspection in November 2023. The appointed EHT will work alongside the existing strong staff team, including leaders, who are determined to build on the academy’s successes, in collaboration with the trust team.
The school community is complex, supporting significant disadvantage with very high levels of pastoral and welfare needs alongside educating children from both mainstream and SEND unit. There is an excellent LA commissioned SEND Unit which includes 40 places for children with communication and social interaction needs/ Autism with associated learning needs.
TVED is a forward thinking trust working locally, regionally and nationally to improve the life chances of all our children and those beyond our borders, alongside impacting positively on the profession. The successful candidate will be expected to play a key part in these collaborations to drive forward our mission.

It has supported SEND sufficiency across Middlesbrough and Redcar Local Authorities and continues to do so with the recent expansion into secondary provision.

It has supported SEND sufficiency across Middlesbrough and Redcar Local Authorities and continues to do so with the recent expansion into secondary provision.
It is the culmination of a number of years of work, dedication and commitment from Tees Valley Education staff, and our partner local authorities, along with other specialist providers, to secure much needed extra capacity for local children and families.
